HI! I am starting a new monthly blog series about being an accidental single and embracing the single life. You may be asking what an unintentional single is? An unintentional single is a phrase I have coined to explain why I am single. I always thought I would be married and have children at this stage of my life. However, that is not what my life path had in mind for me right away. That is why I am calling myself an accidental single. I want to share the wisdom and life lessons I have learned throughout my single life. If you can relate, you have found yourself in the right place.
Throughout this series:
( How to embrace the single life)
Throughout this series, I want to share why we need to change some of the phrases we use, our mindset on life at the moment, the way we live, and more. In addition, I want to share how to change perspectives on dating—tweaking your must-haves when finding a partner and How to have fun while doing all this. Of course, there will be some pitfalls and learning curves along the way, which is ok. How else will we learn how to be the best version of ourselves!
First Post:
Simple steps to changing phrases:
For my first post, I want to share the simple step of changing the phrases we use. Because when we tweak our phrasing, it can help us not feel the pressure that language might evoke. I am not sure if you are like me, but I often say when I get married, I will_______.

Things like I will get the Kitchen Aid stand mixer when I get married because it is the more expensive mixer. If you keep saying that and buying the less expensive mixer, you may, in the end, have to buy more than one since the less expensive one may not be as good of a quality. Also, when you keep saying this, you are putting pressure on yourself to feel you have to get married as soon as possible. So if you change the phrase, say, I will get that Kitchen Aid because that is what I need and want. It will help alleviate that pressure you are putting on yourself. Also, why should you have to wait?
There are other phrases like when I am with someone else I can go on a memorable trip or saying life will be easier. If we take that trip and work on making things more accessible now, we will be in a better place to find that right person to bring into our wonderful life. Because once again, we have alleviated the undue pressure we are putting on ourselves.
When we are living our lives, changing our phrasing, and having fun with dating is when we will attract the right people. They will be wowed by all you are doing and the radiating light. There is no reason to put your life on hold until you find the person to spend your life with.
I am excited to be sharing these monthly posts with you. I hope they will inspire you to find your unintentional inner single, embrace it, and love it.
