Happy Friday, friends! I don’t know about you, but I am so excited that spring has arrived here in New England. The trees are beginning to flower, bud, and daffodils bloom, and the weather is getting warmer. What does this mean? Spring traditions are just around the corner!
The Boston Marathon is on Monday, a significant event in this area. It’s also school vacation, and many offices are closed because getting to work can be challenging at this time. There are plenty of flower festivals and pick-your-own tulip fields, with the highlight being the annual Nantucket Daffodil Festival, also known as Daffy Weekend. This event celebrates daffodils with a variety of fun activities.
There’s an antique car parade, a Sconset tailgate picnic, and a daffy hat parade. Sankaty Head Lighthouse will be beautifully adorned with a daffodil wreath, and you can’t miss the daffodil show at Bartlett’s Farm. There is so much to enjoy! I am particularly excited because this will be my first year attending. A friend and I are planning to go to Daffy on Saturday, and she has been giving me lots of tips for the weekend. One important tip is that everyone dresses in yellow.
Unfortunately, yellow is not a color I usually have in my closet, so I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect yellow sweater, top, or dress. Luckily, many stores have beautiful yellow pieces available. I’ve found lovely sweaters with puff sleeves, delicate pointelle details, classic cuts, flowy midi-length dresses, long striped shirt dresses, and solid A-line dresses. My favorite options come from Doen, Gap, and Banana Republic. I can’t wait to share what I choose and the other options I discover!
