For the past ten years, my family has been visiting Cape Cod on summer vacation. The Cape is the perfect place to spend our summer vacation. There is something for all ages to enjoy. Days spent at the beach or boat, day trips, and lots of seafood, for those of you who have not been to the Cape. It is part of Massachusetts at the bottom of the state. The Cape consists of 15 towns from the upper to the lower Cape. Each area and town has something special for you to do.
My family stays in Falmouth, which is in the upper part of the Cape. Falmouth has a beautiful downtown with lots of shops and restaurants. They have great seafood markets, Ice cream, and the Black dog Cafe (the original is on Marthas Vineyard). The black Dog has the most delicious clam chowder. Part of Falmouth is Woods hole where the National Oceanographic Institute. The Oceanographic Institute is world-known for there research into the ocean. They have an aquarium where you can learn about the sea life that lives in the sea off the Cape.
Other parts of the Cape have The national seashore, bungalows right on the beach, and fun activities like Minnie golf, a trampoline park, and go-carts. There are even dune buggy tours of the dunes. One other unique attraction is The Cape Cod Baseball League. It is a collegiate summer baseball league. You might get to see some players that might go pro someday. They play all over the Cape. So no matter where you stay, you can see a game.
There are so many great places to visit on the Cape. I am sharing my highlight of sites anyone would like to see while there.

- Wellfleet Beach Comber– is a beach that has a bar/restaurant right there. It is a fabulous beach that you need to walk down the dunes to get to. When you look up, all you see is sand. There is parking right at the beach, but it is a small lot, so it is not easy to get; however, they have other spots a little ways off that have a bus that is a two-minute ride. The restaurant is a fun, kitschy place. They have a great outdoor bar area with wood tables. They have a raw bar and the most fantastic seafood. Their drinks are famous. Esquire magazine wrote about their Goombay Smash. It is a run drink with an island flare.
2. Knobska Lighthouse- When visiting New England, seeing a lighthouse is a must. Lighthouses are iconic to New England. The Knobska Lighthouse has a beautiful caretaker’s house and is up a hill. So it has incredible views.
3. Providence Town– Providence Town, affectionately called Ptown, is at the tip of the Cape. It has lots of fun stores, restaurants, and shows. In addition, Providence Town Has beautiful houses and classic New England streets. This is a great place to spend an afternoon having lunch and meandering through the stores and streets.
4. Chatham– Chatham is one of the Nicer parts of the Cape. It has magnificent houses flanked with spectacular flowers. In addition, there is a world-renowned Hotel (The Chatham Bars Inn). They have amazing views, excellent restaurants, and a spa.
5. Heritage Museum and Garden- The Heritage Museum and Garden has the most magnificent gardens. They have a wide variety of Hydrangeas and other beautiful flowers. This is a great place to meander and spend a lovely afternoon taking in all the flowers.
