Ever since I was little, gift-giving has been vital to me. Whenever it is time to get a gift for someone, be it their birthday, just because or holidays. I always put thought and care into what I am getting someone.
I always like to make sure it is something they would like to receive. Maybe it is something they never knew they needed or that just-right gift they have not stopped talking about.
With the holidays and some birthdays coming up, I have been putting even more thought into what to get people this year. Not only do I want to get thoughtful presents, but I also want to support local businesses that put their heart and soul into all they do. They all put lots of time into curating what lines their store shelves and are on their websites.
This year I want to share with you a few different gift guides for small businesses. I am kicking this off with a Martha’s Vineyard gift guide.
Martha’s Vineyard is this magical place. It is one of two islands off the shore of Cape Cod, MA. To get there, you either need to take a ferry or a small plane. They have the most magnificent small stores where you can get anything from purses to handmade jewelry. I love strolling the streets, meandering in and out of shops finding the perfect gifts to bring back to friends and family.

Leather Treasures MV:
Leather Treasures MV is a shop that carries handmade leather goods. They have beautiful purses, wallets, jewelry, and baby moccasins. They use deerskin and other fine leathers for each piece. The beads and buttons they use are Native American-made. Here are a few items I knew will be my mom-approved. Their fine detail and brilliant colors attracted me to them right away.

Conrado’s is a clothing store who’s tag line is designed with love. They sure are designed with love. Each piece is made in a small factory in the Philippines. They are made in small batches because the fabric that is used is sourced from all over the world and made from deadstock fabric (this is material that is remanence or no longer being made). All of Conrado’s pieces have a fun and flowy look. You can tell these were made with love.

Stephanie Wolf Designs jewelry is inspired by the ocean that is right outside her door. Each bead is hand made in the Czech Republic. Stephanie travels there and helps design each piece. Each one of her jewelry pieces will make you smile and will pair perfectly with whatever you wear.

Backwater Trading Company is a space created to carry products that the owners themselves used in their active Vineyard lifestyle. They have the best that the outdoor lifestyle has to offer. They carry branded shirts, hats, and half zips. Along with outdoor cups, cozies, blankets, and more.

Tangerine is a fun store that has all kinds of pieces for your home. They also have jewelry, trinkets, and items for kids. This shop was the hardest to pick a few things to highlight. As soon as I saw the shark earrings, I thought of my shark-loving cousin. These would make an excellent gift for her. My nautical side was drawn to all the maritime and sea creature pieces. There is something for everyone in this shop.
