Hey there, Happy Wednesday, and Happy New Year!
I want to start the new year with an utterly delightful monthly series! This month, I am kicking off the Life Lately posts! Picture it as a cozy chat over your favorite cuppa, where I spill the deets on the fun, the fabulous, and everything in between. Let’s dive headfirst into the first installment of this merry little series without further ado.
Life Lately No. 1
I hope your year has started with all the good things you deserve. As for me, I’m riding the wave of a slow but oh-so-good start to the year. I’ve been in full-on planner mode. I’m picking out my word of the year and planning a trip to NYC later this month. I am almost finished reading my first book and working on finishing a few needlepoint projects, along with decluttering my closets. And guess what? It’s looking like a year full of laughter, love, and epic moments!
Trips:
I have great things planned for this year. I have already planned three trips, which I am super excited about. My first trip is to New York City – the city that never sleeps, and neither will my excitement! In just over a week, I’ll be hitting the streets of NYC for a double dose of fun. First, I spent a week with my best friend, exploring hidden gems and soaking in the city’s magic. Then, a girl’s weekend extravaganza with my cousin and mom. While in NYC, I want to visit Hill House Home, Ralph’s Coffee, Broadway shows, and go museum-hopping. Watch out, NYC – here I come! And, of course, stay tuned for my ultimate guide to a Weekend in NYC after I’m back!
But that’s not all; this June, the Cape is calling my name for my family’s annual week of seaside bliss. And as if that wasn’t enough, next December, it’s Costa Rica! Both my sister-in-law’s family and mine are embarking on a tropical adventure. Costa Rica holds a special place in our hearts because we went the year after my brother and SIL were married. I can’t wait to make new memories and soak up the pura vida vibes.
Word of the Year:
Let’s discuss my word of the year – “New Chapter.” Yes, I know it’s technically two words, but who’s counting? Last year was all about self-discovery and learning to trust the process. And guess what? It catapulted me right into this exciting new chapter of Life! Brace yourselves because this year, I’m diving into finding my forever person and fearlessly going after what I want. Buckle up because you’re in for a ride as this chapter unfolds. And hey, do you have a word of the year? I want to hear all about it in the comments.
Needlepoint:
Now, onto my needlepoint adventures, I’ve got a list of projects. a Nantucket basket belt, a Costa Rica ornament for my SIL, and a lake canvas for my cousin’s new lake house – oh my! And yes, let’s not forget the ongoing projects that will finally see the light of completion. This is officially the year of finishing projects, people! And can we talk about my newly organized threads? I’m ready to deck out my thread box with a cute saying.
Decluttering
And speaking of decluttering, it’s time for a house overhaul! I’ve dabbled in decluttering over the past few years, but 2024 is all about the big leagues. No more wondering what’s hidden behind bins or lurking in mystery boxes. Significant changes are on the horizon, and I want my space to be a clutter-free zone, ready for whatever Life throws my way. It’s the perfect winter project.
