6 of my Favorite Natural Beauty Products

Ever since I went to the Well Summit over four years ago, I have been on a clean journey. When I say clean, you might think I mean cleaning my house, but I mean clean or cleaner home and beauty products. When I learned how many nasty items are in beauty products. I decided I wanted to figure out how to clean up my beauty routine. There is no reason we should be using chemical-filled products. They work and make you feel good, but they fill our bodies with chemicals. There are clean beauty alternatives that can work better and make you feel good.

When I wound up with a chronic illness, I wanted to find every way to help make myself healthy from the inside out. So I started reading and learning about everything that could help me. That is when I found the Well Summit. The Well Summit changed my life. I heard speakers talking about how they had chronic illnesses and how a clean journey helped them into remission and led to healthier, happier lives. Now you do not need to be going through a chronic illness to want or need to start using clean products. A cleaner life can help everyone feel and stay healthier.

How to start on a Natural journey:

You might be saying yes, I want to go on a clean journey, but where do I start? The easiest way to start is one product at a time. For example, as you use up your foundation, you can replace it with a clean or cleaner option. If you are unsure how to tell if a product is clean, you can get the Think Dirty app. As easy as one, two three, you can scan a bar code, and it will tell you how clean a product is. When reading nontoxic, organic, or green labels, it does not mean it is clean. That is why using an app. like Think Dirty is helpful. Also, EWG’s Skin Deep is another place to determine if a product is clean. EWG also has an app. There are a few other apps, but these are the ones I like the best.

Which Brand or Brands are right for you:

Once you have figured out what brands are clean, it is time to figure out which one will have the right products for you. The best way to figure this out is. Do you like the color, how the product feels on your skin, will it last, and does it works with your skin type? I would start by reading reviews and then heading to the store to try out the products. Sephora is beginning to carry a lot more clean brands; Blue Murucry also has some. Credo Beauty and folaine carry only clean beauty. These stores will give you a sample to bring home and try it a few times to ensure it is correct. Finally, many clean brands’ websites will help you determine what shade is best for you. I recently bought a few products that I have fallen in love with.

Natural Products I love:

Ilia– lip gloss is the perfect size to fit in a pocket or small bag. It glides on smoothly, keeps my lips hydrated for hours, and the color looks natural.

Jones Road- People have been raving about Jones Road. It is a new brand from Bobby Brown. As soon as I tried her miracle balm, I was in love. It is creamy, light, and looks natural on your face. It has a dewy natural glow.

Olive and June- Is a clean nail polish brand that will not break the bank. They carry a variety of colors and nail accessories. Olive and June will stay on your nails for about a week and easily come off. A pro tip if you take one of their manicure classes, you get a free polish.

Beauty Counter- Carries a variety of items face cream, sunblock, and makeup. I use their foundation; it goes on easily and is lightweight. You can buy from a rep or directly from their website.

Drunk Elephant- This brand carries face, hair, and body products. I have used their face cream and serum for years. It has helped to keep my dry skin hydrated. With one pump, you can cover your face with enough cream to keep your face hydrated all day.

Tart- is a makeup brand I had not used a lot. But when I saw a few people raving about their lipstick, I had to try it. Everyone was right. Their Lipstick colors look great on, go on smooth, and are so creamy.
