Top 10 Essential Items for your Summer Vacation

My family got back Saturday from a week’s vacation down on Cape Cod. It was a week of sun, beach, seafood, boating, and relaxing. Before I went away, I prepare by picking up the vacation essentials for this week of fun. Coming prepared helps make the week go smoother and less work once I get on vacation. For example, making sure you have extras of items like deodorant, toothpaste, and medication. This way, you don’t need to run out and get more if you use them up. I am sharing the top 10 essential items for your summer vacation.

I find it helpful to do the shopping for dry items before heading on vacation. This way you can spend less time in the supermarket and more time doing vacation things. Top 10 Essential Items for your Summer Vacation:

Extra Sunscreen- If you run out, you do not want to take the time to run to the store to get more.

Games- I always bring some of my family’s favorite games (you never know if the place you are staying at will have them). These are fun things to do to wind down at the end of the day, or if shame on me for even saying this, but if you get a rainy day.

Book- Having a good book to read is always an excellent way to relax while on vacation.

Favorite Food- When my family goes to the Cape, I try and shop for the nonperishables before going (the food is more money down there). If you are not staying in a house, it is still helpful to bring snacks you like this way; you don’t need to spend extra money on them because you would most likely get them from the hotel store or a convenience store which can be more money.

Extra chargers- Vacation is an excellent time to unwind, but we do need our phones to keep in touch and case of an emergency. So just in case a charger gets lost or brakes it is good to have an extra one.

Bug Spray- It can get buggy at night on vacation. Save the itching and bring the bug spray.

Favorite Chair- You may be wondering why. If you are staying at a house rental, they should have some, but if not, you will want your chair for the beach, concerts, games, or any other outdoor sitting events.

Cooler- A cooler is essential if you will be out all day at the beach, lake, hike, or any other outdoor day activate. This will keep your lunch and drinks cool all day.

Camera- It is nice to document some of the fun you are having on vacation. This way, you can look back at all your vacation memories.

Extra Sunglasses- I am not saying you will lose your sunglasses, but it could happen, so it is always important to come prepared.
