There is just something so lovely about having fresh flowers around the house. You may ask how to brighten up your home using flowers. Imagine yourself sitting in your living room all cozy on your couch reading a book, and you look over at your coffee table to see a vase of fresh hydrangeas. They are so sunny, bright, and smell so fragrant. How nice it feels to have them to look at and make you smile. This is why I have always had fresh flowers in my house.

Now fresh flowers are not always cheap and can feel like a luxury to have and you may ask how to brighten up your home using flowers? I am going to share with you how to brighten up your home using flowers. I love flowers, but I don’t always have a lot of extra money for them. Until I found the ultimate place to find lower-priced exquisite flowers, I bet you will not be able to guess where I get them! The best place to find flowers is at Trader Joe’s. Not only do they look beautiful, but They also last a long time and are at a reasonable price point. I can get a bunch of hydrangeas for $5. Tulips are a little more. They run around $10. These prices are lower than other places where tulips will run $15-20 a bundle.

A few years ago, I took a flower arranging class with Alices Table. One of the things they taught was how to make sure you got a good bunch of flowers. All you need to do is check the bottom of the stem. If it feels firm and not flimsy, they are a good bunch. I always check the stems when buying flowers. Once in a while, I will splurge on flowers and buy some from the local flower farm. I like to support small and local. They also have fabulous, unique blooms. They are a bit more money, though. As I am writing this, I am looking over at the hydrangeas I bought a week ago and marveling at how perfect they still look. They should last almost a week to get their water and cut their stems every so often.
