For years I have seen lots of amazing Ikea Hacks. I loved all of them and knew I wanted to do one. That is when I found this Besta hack and knew it would look perfect in my hall entryway. This is the most amazing Ikea Hack (Besta Storage). It is so fun putting together furniture. Once this piece is fully finished, it will look like those expensive pieces in the furniture store for 1/2 the price. I bought the Besta storage unit. Added doors with a glass insert, legs, and door pull. I have one more thing I need to do: add either caining or grasscloth to the inside of the glass.
This was such an easy project to do. It just takes a little time and arm muscle. The Besta comes in one box with all the pieces to be put together. It took me about 30-45 minutes to do. I needed to use a drill to get the screws in (I don’t have a lot of arm strength). The directions do not say use a drill. I just found it more manageable. Once the Besta was put together, the doors were a snap to put on. The hardest part for me what finding the legs I wanted. I looked at amazon but did not 100% love any of it. I also wanted to support a smaller company. This is when I found Pretty Pegs.
They have the prettiest legs for any style table, bed or couch. These Legs are of good quality, look fantastic, and came fast. They have wood, metal, metal, and wood legs of many different sizes. I was sold as soon as I saw the Ester legs. I knew they were the legs I wanted. My home decor is a mix of Grandmillennial, Hollywood Glam, and 60s mod. So their gold medal with light wood is a mix of all my styles.
Legs:
The door pulls I had been drooling over for a while. I have seen these door pulls used on all kinds of projects, bookshelf doors, side tables, and sideboards. They are gold flower plates with a scalloped key pull with a tassel. They add a touch of class to the whole unit. Unfortunately, the doors do not have holes for a door pull; I had to drill those in myself. But, it was pretty easy to do. If you don’t want pulls, they have a push and open spring you can attach.
The last thing I need to finish off this project is either get grasscloth wallpaper or caining to put in the glass. I want caining however it is a bit pricy, and glass cloth is more budget-friendly. So I need to pick one and go with it. You might be wondering why I am sharing this before it is finished. I am so excited about how it is coming out I had to share it right away.
