The Always Changing Life…..
No one except my parents have seen this till now. My dirty little secret (in more than one way hahaha)
I have been reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing. This book is really giving me the courage and urge to want to TRULY clean out and declutter. This is a very hard process for me because like many in the book everything is sentimental and has meaning to me. So because of this it is hard to part with them. I am going to try the method that is decried in this book and I believe I can truly do it. I know once I do this I will feel much better not only about the things in my house but the things in my life too. I am realizing that decluttering does not only relate to my house but also to my car and even my phone. Lately I have been thinking about the apps, emails, photos and notes that are on my phone. I am realizing there are lots that I do not use and they are just taking up space. How I am going to work on decluttering my phone is that I am going to start with my apps. I am going to go through each sub category I have and check out each app with in them. Then I am going to decide if
A. I use it. If I do not then get ride of it (I can always get it again if I think I need to use it)
B. If I use it some time how often do I use it. If I do not use it a lot get ride of it and I can down load it again as needed
C. If I have not used it in months or do not use it at all then get ride of it
I have a lot of notes
Now as for emails and notes every few weeks or so I go back and look at my emails and notes to see if there are some I was saving and do not need any more.
Look at how many photos I have. Time to save them and clean out my phone
Then there are my photos most of them are important to me. Some of them wind up being doubles (since I use a photo app to clean some of them up).
1. So first delete all double pictures I do not need
2. Then I delete any photos I might have saved from Instagram, Pinterest or other places that I really have no use for.
3. Next I go through all my photos to make sure they mean something to me. If not I delete them
Then I download them to my computer so I have them saved (if there are some I really need to have on my phone I have created a folder where they can go and then be down loaded to my phone)
I hope this will give you the spark to start decluttering and organizing things in your life. I will let you know how I am doing with this. I know it will be hard, but I also know I need and can do this. How do you organize and declutter?
Most people have junk draws. I have a junk corner
Not so bad, but my shelf could be more organized
Once again this could be more organized
