Snowstorm Survival Ideas……
I can’t believe I am even writing this, but I do live in New England. So with an impending nor’easter snowstorm on its way for Tuesday and Wednesday and 8-10 inches predicted for now. I started thinking about do I have enough food, then I started thinking what am I going to do to keep myself entertained. Most people always think first about if they have enough food, but most of the time we don’t think about things to keep us occupied for a day or more. For me I am working from home right now so I will continue to work, but on a normal day I would go out to do errands or exercise. So on a snow day I need to find things to fill those times. I was thinking about what things I like doing for fun that I could do in the house. Here are some ideas I came up with. I hope these will either interest you and/or help you come up with ideas of your own.
Adult Coloring Book- it is relaxing and fun. You can get these at any craft store or bookstore. You can even just print them off the internet. The only other thing you need is either colored pencils or crayons (I think colored pencils are better because you can color smaller places easier). The coloring book I have the Young House Love coloring book.
Read a Book- you could read a book you have been either wanting to read or finish. This gives you plenty of uninterrupted time since you are stuck in the house. You can also use this time to read an article you have bookmarked either online, in a magazine or the newspaper.
Binge Watch a Show- binge watch a show you have been wanting to get into or watch a movie you have been wanting to watch.
Craft Project- work on a craft project you have been wanting to do. Make some Jewelry, knit a blanket, crest a photo album of all the photos you have been saving, paint, or anyone of the other projects you have been wanting to do.
Finish a home Project- Finish cleaning out your closet (no my clothes are not sitting on the door waiting to go to the resale shop), finish painting that room you started panting, finish creating your art wall or any other project you need to get done.
Try out That Exercise Video- usually during the Middle of the day I am ready to get moving, but can’t always leave the house. So this is a great opportunity to try out that work out video that always looked good, but had not had time to try out.
Bake- this is a great opportunity to bake something yummy you can have at home to eat for the rest of the week. This is a good way to make something yummy that is healthier for you then running to the store and getting the unhealthy treat.
