Seasonal Decorating that Fits Right with your Home….
I have a friend who recently bought a house. She had texted me the other day asking if I could write a blog post about seasonal decorating. She asked because she was trying to decorate her house for the fall. This is her first house. Before this, she lived in a studio apartment and even before that she lived with roommates. This is the first place that is truly hers. Also, she was having trouble finding items she felt would fit her style, not look lost in her house, and fit her budget. She had texted me in hopes that I could help her by writing a post about this. Obviously I was willing to help her with it (I am always willing to help a friend and I love decorating). I decorate for most holidays and every season. The only part of this process I find daunting is having to take down and put away the decorations. (I may or may not still have one or two winter decorations I forgot to take down last year). Now most of you might be asking where do I start to get ideas for how I want to decorate? Well I find Pinterest to be super helpful. I have gotten great home decor ideas from there. They make it so easy to put in the search engine whatever you are looking for. Also, HGTV and Rachel Ray magazine have some great ideas too. Once you have an idea what you like then it is time to figure out how much of it will fit in your house and where to get it. The stores I like the most for finding seasonal decorations are Target, Home Goods, World Market, West Elm and Micheals. Yes I said Micheals! they are not just for crafts. I have found the cutest, reasonably priced pieces there. Especially right after that season or holiday is over. Now I know my friend does not have all these stores where she lives. But, most of these stores have websites you can order from. I hope this will help you get started with your seasonal decorating and Happy Hunting! I would love to see how you decorated. Post pictures below.
