My love of Lilly
As my friends know, I have a love for Lilly Pulitzer (or they might say, an obsession with). I feel her clothes have colors and patterns that can brighten up a dreary day. From summer to winter, she can be worn in any season and look stylish. A little history about Lilly: She opened a juice stand in Florida in the 1950’s. Her dress got juice stains on the sleeve, so she took the sleeves off, creating the shift dress. Customers loved it so much that she made dresses to order and from there, started the Lilly Pulitzer clothing line. Since then, she has had a loyal following of people who try to find her clothes where ever they can. You can buy Lilly at many authorized retail shops across the country, at many Lilly Pulitzer stores, or online at Lilly Pulitzer . Vintage Lilly items can be found anywhere from eBay to the Brimfield Antiques show (an antiques market out in Brimfield, Ma that is open a few times a year) Brimfield . Vintage Lilly items are very sought after. You can also find her used clothes at high end resale shops and pages like Relilly on Facebook. My first item of Lilly I ever bought was a dress with bright blue and green colors. Since then I have bought about 4 dresses, a top, 2 skirts, a pair of shorts, 3 murfe scarves, a wristlet and 2 purses. I feel that the Spring 2014 collection is one of her best collections. My favorite dress from that collection is the Delia dress.
Here are some Lilly Pulitzer items from my own closet.
