Marathon, Patriots Weekend and Free Tickets
Sorry this is a bit late, but it was a week that went so fast I did not even know it was Friday. This weekend was filled with lots of friends and fun. The weekend started out Friday night with me helping a friend move some of her stuff to her new apartment. I am sad since she was living above me and now she will be a bit farther away. Saturday morning, I got up early for training. We were training on Heartbreak Hill, which was amazing, since I know two days later the marathon would be run there. While at training, a friend asked if I wanted Red Sox tickets, I asked how much? I was excited when she said they were free. After training, a few of us went for brunch. Brunch was so yummy (I love the Rox Diner). While at brunch, a friend texted me to see if I wanted to hang out. We decided to go see the Letters to Boston exhibit at the public library (this exhibit is about the stuff left at a memorial after the marathon bombing). While at brunch, I asked one of my friends to join us. She had to go home first so she was going to meet us there. While on the T, we decided to walk through the Prudential Center. While walking through, we were drawn into the marathon expo. We walked around a bit then my other friend joined us. There were so many good booths, we spent a long time there. Also, we ran into a friend who was running in the marathon. I got her bib number so I could track her during the race. Because we were there so long we missed the exhibit. It was closed by the time we left the expo. The rest of the night I spent relaxing. Sunday, I face timed with my parents and one of my nieces, relaxing, food shopping and getting ready for the Red Sox game. When it was time for the game, I met my friend at her house and we walked over to the T. Once we got to the park, I wanted to get a present for my little cousin who likes the Red Sox. We went to the souvenir shop, where I got a pennant. After that, we went to find beer, food and our seats. While walking around the park, I found some good places to take some photo shoots. I thought once I was done my friend was going to kill me. The game was fun, but cold, so we decided to go after the end of the 7th inning. As we were about to leave the game started to heat up. The boys were getting on base and hitting the balls far. The boys did great and brought home a win. The next day was Marathon Monday, AKA Patriots day. I met a friend at work (since work is only a few blocks from the marathon route). We wanted to stand at the Newton fire station, which I have found is a good place to find runners. It was so packed, we had to go around the corner where it was less packed. We were tracking our friends and were so excited when we saw they were getting close. But the thing is there were so many runners we never saw them. I was bummed (well there is always next year). This was definitely an amazing weekend. I can’t wait for the next fun weekend.
