Homecoming in the Rain….
So I have been excited for my collages homecoming all week. But looming in the background was the threat of rain. Now I was torn because I wanted rain (since we are in a drought) but I did not want rain on homecoming since most of the day is spent outside and fewer come because of this. Now I live in New England where the saying goes if you don’t like the weather wait 10 minuets and it will change. So I crossed my fingers that it would change. Unfortunately the weather report did not change and even got a little worse. So on Saturday morning. I got up early and drove up in the pouring rain so I could be at the board meetings I also had (since I am an alumni board member).
Luckily I have rain boots and a rain coat that I can put over layers (since it was a bit chilly). After my meetings we went to other activities planned for the day. Now these were in a different building so I had to trudge out in the rain. Basically I had to spend part of my day going from building to building in the rain. Also we had a football game (they play in all kinds of weather) so I had to make sure I bundled up and had on all my rain gear. Luckily I brought with me my Patagonia sweatshirt, my Vineyard Vines raincoat and Julius rain boots. Thank goodness I had these because what is a girl to do who wants to look stylish in the rain. I mean you never know who you might see. My fends and I did not last long since it was raw and rainy. We made it about an hour and then we went to find a dry place to hang out and have some hot chocolate. Through out the day the rain did not really let up. Thank goodness the rest of my day was spent inside at either a meeting or having dinner. All and all even though it was raining I still had a good time. Hopefully next year will be sunny and beautiful.
