From Anchors & Bows to Bayberry & Main…..
Recently I did a rebranding from Anchors & Bows to Bayberry & Main. The reason I did this was there were a lot of anchor & bows on all forms of media and I wanted to stand out. When I first started my journey I was writing for me and one day a friend asked what I had been up to and I told her I had started blogging. She read my blog and loved it so much she gave me the idea I should do more with it. So I went public and ever since I have grown from blogging to Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and took my Snapchat public. The name Bayberry & Main is very personal. Creating my new name took a good solid month. I wanted my name to be unique and something no one was using. I was so excited when I came up with Bayberry & Main. Bayberry is a plant that grows on Cape Cod, MA and is also the name of the street that my great aunt’s house is on. My family all call the house “Bayberry”.
For many years ever since I was in college, my cousins and aunt would all spend a week down there and my grandparents and I would go and spend a day with them. My great aunt was a very influential person in my life. She had an amazing sense of style, she was poised, had an air of sophistication, along with being such a warm loving person. Family means a lot to me, we are all very close. Now we have a new tradition where my family goes to Cape Cod with my cousins. This is so lovely because my nieces get to know more of their family. Another reason why my family is so important and another reason I started blogging is 11 years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s and Colitis are auto immune diseases that affects the intestines. I am very vocal about my disease because it is shitty (no pun intended or maybe intended). I am hoping by spreading awareness we will get more funding to help find a cure. Even though this disease might get me down some times, I also look at it positively. All of this is why I started blogging and decided to rebrand. I am so happy with the lovely community I have created across all my media. I am excited to keep that going and growing. Please help me and share my blog with your friends. What do you all think of my new name?
